Starting The Year Out Right!
The holidays are coming to a close and the new year is about to arrive. Â It is the time of year when many decide to make resolutions about things they want to change in their life. Â Some want to lose weight. Â Some want to improve relationships. Â Some want to get out of debt or increase the size of their checking account. Â All of these are very good goals (I need to do all of these), but there is one thing I want to challenge you to look at as we move into 2013. Â I want you evaluate your relationship to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Â If this relationship is not right, I can assure you that the others will never be exactly where you want them to be. Â If you have not made that decision, you can do it right now. Â Read the following verses from the Bible and decide that you will believe these verses and accept them as truth for your life (all scriptures are from the ESV).
Start with Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
Then go to Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”
Then see Romans 5:8 “but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ dies for us”
Finally look at Romans 10:9 “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”
Are you willing to start 2013 out right with God? Â I pray that this year includes God in everything that we do!
Be Blessed!
